IR spectroscopy is a technology to determine quantities of known substances. This is made by reference spectra or structure search process of unknown substances.

Contactless temperature measuring (remote temperature measuring) bases at radiation balancing between object and thermopile. The temperatur difference at the thermopile is proportional to the surface temperature of object to measure.

With a count of thermopiles in a line it is possible to measure a temperature profile remotely.
